The concession papers for Sofia’s West Park will be prepared within a couple of months, the city’s chief architect Petar Dikov told an environmental round table yesterday.
He added Bulgaria’s largest municipality is preparing to concession off more parks, betting on strong interest on potential investors. According to plans, private companies will look after parks as the municipality is short of cash.
West Park will accommodate an amusement centre, tennis courts, picnic areas and a few cafes, according to Dikov. The contract will last for 15 to 25 years. This will be the municipality’s second attempt to concession off a part of West Park. Last year’s competition failed after no bidders showed up.
