Bulgaria's DSK and the United Bulgarian Bank (UBB) shared the Bank of The Year 2005 Award in a ceremony held in Sofia on Wednesday night. That was the first time for the prize, handed out annually over the past eight years, to go to two institutions simultaneously. The award was presented by Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov.
Valeri Dimitrov, head of the Bulgarian National Audit Office, Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski and Deputy Parliament Speaker Kameliya Kassabova were some of the members of the committee that picked the winners. The winner in one category, however, was chosen via online voting - the Bank of The Client, which was swept by the Post Bank.
