The number of newly built residential apartments in the Black Sea town of Burgas totaled 5082 in 2005, twice as much as in the capital Sofia, statistics show.
New builds totaled 2025 in Sofia, which is being followed by the coastal city of Varna with 1991 of newly built residential apartments.
At the bottom of the ranking are the towns of Montana, Razgrad and Kardzhali where no more than six, eleven and thirty-four residential houses respectively were erected. Across the country new builds numbered 12 110 last year, up by 3 843 over 2004.
