Bulgaria's seaside city of Burgas has the highest number of fresh construction sites over the third quarter of the year, official data shows. The city has issued 2 036 permissions for the start of new construction, the National Statistics Institute said. In the capital Sofia, the number of fresh permits was 1 497, and in the main port city Varna - 1 144.
Investors are staking on higher and bigger residential buildings as the number of permits issued for new apartment houses is down in favor of the built-up areas.
The trend is reverse in the case of building hotels, tourism and sports facilities, factories.
