A number of Bulgarian tourism and ecology organisations have insisted on introducing changes in the Super Borovets project, it became clear Wednesday. The Association for Alternative Tourism, Eco-Rila - Samokov, Ecology Association "For the Earth" and others plead for providing more opportunities in terms of alternative tourism and steady development in the region. The organizations also demand a construction of a new tourism development frame and a new general organization plan.
The associations will also insist the environment minister not to approve the report on the ecology evaluation of the resort-tourism localization Samokov-Borovets-Beli Iskar.
The project concept providing for an overall development and modernization of the resort, the nearby town of Samokov, and the area of Beli Iskar, has originally pursued to build up the country's potential to apply for hosting Winter Olympics 2014.
The concept, furthered by the special working group on the project, plans the construction of a special 7,000-bedspace village, social communication center, entertainment sites, shopping centers, winter sports facilities, swim pools, tennis and golf courses.
Though Super Borovets is likely to enter the second stage - that of construction - as early as in 2007, foreign investors have already shown keen interest in joining the project.
