The construction of eight new hotels will begin in Bulgarian ski resort Pamporovo.
In the words of the chairman of the hoteliers union "Pamporovo 21 century" Georgi Georgiev the new hotels will have capacity of over 2,000 beds and they will be opened by the next winter.
Due to the increased investors interest in Pamporovo the prices of land have gone up to 130-140 euros for square meter.
Last week Sabah daily singled out the Rhodopes-located resort in line with fanciful places in Spain, France, Italy and Sweden, where various alternatives for tourism, sports and recreation are being offered.
Bulgarian winter resorts are scoring points, as foreigners grow more familiar with the country. The government has been working out and implementing strategies to bring the ski facilities up to a standard that would enable Bulgaria to host the 2014 Winter Olympics.
