Armed with positive environment report, the ambitious project Super Borovets is expected to receive a governmental approval on the regular Cabinet session on Thursday.
The project concept providing for an overall development and modernization of the resort, the nearby town of Samokov, and the area of Beli Iskar, has originally pursued to build up the country's potential to apply for hosting Winter Olympics 2014.
The concept, furthered by the special working group on the project, plans the construction of a special 7,000-bedspace village, social communication center, entertainment sites, shopping centers, winter sports facilities, swim pools, tennis and golf courses.
Though Super Borovets is likely to enter the second stage - that of construction - as early as in 2007, foreign investors have already shown keen interest in joining the project.
Earlier this week press media announced that two Italian companies have reiterated their interest in Borovets. Leitner can supply the ski-lifts for Borovets and Techno Alpine can equip the mega resort with artificial snow dispersing facilities.
