A new ski center with 14 alpine tracks to be used by nearly 4,600 skiers will emerge in the north-western part of Rila Mountain, to connect the areas of Panichishte, the Lakes and Kabul Peak.
An eight-seat cabin lift will start from the resort of Sapareva Banja and carry tourists up to the peak, the local municipality announced.
The planned ski center will fit for sporting all alpine and track ski disciplines and may be even used for major international sporting events.
The investment of Rila Sport municipal company is projected to reach EUR 30 M. The first sod under the project is expected next year.
