Bulgarian Parliament adopted at first reading the changes in the Constitution related to the country’s accession to the EU. The changes envisage foreign citizens and foreign juridical persons to be able to acquire ownership of land under the conditions pertaining to Bulgaria’s accession to the EU, according an international agreement or through inheritance according to the law. The changes in the Constitution relate also to certain acts of the government after Bulgaria becomes a EU member. According to the changes Bulgarian citizens could be handed over to another country or an international tribunal for the purposes of penal prosecution.
