The European Commission has approved the project of the construction of key highway Ljulin designed to take on the high traffic through some suburban areas of capital Sofia.
In an official letter to the National ISPA Coordinator and Minister of Finance Milen Velchev Brussels said that Bulgaria has met the conditions of the financial memorandum and can proceed with a public tender for picking up the constructor company.
The document gives six months term for the launch of the auction procedure.
The project for the construction of Ljulin highway was included in the financial memorandum between the Bulgarian government and the European Commission of 2001. It totals EUR 148.5 M, including EUR 111.4 M funded by the EU.
